This is a big loss to all of us. We loved her. she was an inspiration to people of all colors. As hard as it is for the family to come to terms with it, let them know the nation is mourning a hero. We have lost a champion. Its painful because she died knowing she is celebrated by many, but she will never know just how much she has touched our lives. That on our side should be enough to comfort us. So instead of mourning, lets celebrate her life, for she did her duty as assigned by the lord with distinction. Let her soul rest in peace and her memories endure forever to keep inspiring us.

Ashley Callie was a much-loved TV personality and will be sorely missed. We often tend to believe that these individuals in the spotlight are beyond the clutches of material miseries, with many of us living vicariously through their on-screen persona’s.
Such a tragic passing jolts us back to the reality that this precious life is fragile and should not be wasted even for a second. Even though Ashley was taken at such a young age, she lived life to the fullest, and this should be an inspiration to us all.
May God be with her family and loved ones during this time.

I feel quite devastated by the loss of Ashley Callie. Even though I only “knew” her through the tv set I felt she was part of my life every evening.
Isidingo will never be the same but I will continue to watch in her memory.
To Ashley’s family I wish you all well and great strength at this difficult time.
To Ashley I have no doubt you will take your magic and wonderful nature to your new home. May you all have a blast up there.
February 18th, 2008 at 8:50 am
My condolences, perhaps the people that she was can shared some more light. Did Callie have a glass of wine at the function on her wayback to meet her untimely death? If that is not the case, why can we not get some bold Journalism going on to chase the story withiot fear or favour. Is it also true that she did not have a medical aid let alone a Hospital cover?
I feel we not getting the whole truth out of this story. If tables where turned the vultures would have a field day.
February 18th, 2008 at 8:53 am
We are praying for you. Now that this has happened don’t stop believing that God does care. Sometimes when things like these happen we get so discouraged, and as much as it hurts right now know that God is also hurting with you. He will be by your side each step of this thorny road you are going through. God loves you and he cares, don’t forget to pray each moment for strength from above and for peace within.
We did not know Ashley on a personal level but we loved her work and her personality on and off stage. We will miss her terribly. We are praying for you. Philippians 4:7
February 18th, 2008 at 8:56 am
My deepest sympathies to Callie’s family and friends, she was a very intelligent, brilliant and gorgeous lady! May she rest in peace and watch over her family during this difficult time. To the Callie Family,
Deepest condolences too you all. Ashely will be sorely missed by us all.
This is a poem I find alot of comfort in.
I Am Not There.
Don’t stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond that glints on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there. I did not die.

I am still shocked and crushed by this tragedy. It is very painful to see her on Isidingo, knowing that she’s no longer with us. Feel like I’ve lost someone close to me, although we of course never met. I’m so sad and wish the family and those who were close to her in ‘real life’, peace and happy memories of her when the rawness starts to heal.

My family and I are avid watchers of Isidingo, I found that my relationship with my father is very similar to that of Ashleys character Leigh and Barker. It is a great loss to both her family and SA viewers. Celebrate her life and achievements as Ashley touched many lives as an actor, her smile some how just roped you in! ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG, I know that this is little comfort but time will allow this open wound to heal.
February 19th, 2008 at 11:54 am
My dad died on Friday evening from a massive heart attack, i understand the hurt, pain and anger that you’re feeling. I know my dad had great company when he reached the Pearly Gates. Good luck to your family during this difficult time.

Sometimes God breaks our spirits to save our souls
Sometimes He breaks our hearts to make us whole
Sometimes God allows pain so we can be stronger
Sometimes He sends us failure so we can be humble
Sometimes God takes everything away from us,
So that we can learn the value of everything he gave us.
So make plans but understand we live by Gods grace,
Each and every day.
May He be your comfort during this difficult time!

A Better Place
She’s in a better place right now
Than she’s ever been before;
All pain is gone; she’s now at rest;
Nothing troubles her anymore.
It’s we who feel the burden of
Our sadness and our grief;.
We have to cry, to mourn our loss,
Before we get relief.
We know we’ll reconnect with her
At the end of each life’s road;
We’ll see her cherished face again
When we release our earthly load.

They say : “Everything happens for a reason”.As you ascend to Heaven Ashley, Know that you have done your best, it is now up To God to do the rest.
To the family:Jesus Christ is a narrator of our lives,He is all-seeing & all-knowing.Be proud to know that Ashley didn’t leave you for all the wrong reasons , it was her time to leave for all the good reasons planned by God.

Mr and Mrs Callie, Lauren and John…
Thank you for letting us be a part of Ashley’s farewell and celbration of life. I had the complete honour of meeting her once. She is and was an inspiration of life, energy, hope, radiating life, love, laughter and purity.
She will never be forgotten and we will keep her memory, her spirit and flame alive within us.
THANK YOU for sharing your angel with us!

My heart goes out to Ashley’s mom, dad brother and sister for what is one of hardest experiences a human being ever has to face - especially the loss of one’s child. You raised a rare and shimmering gem, and we the public are blessed by what you gave us in the person of your daughter. Fly high Ashley!

To the friends and family of Ashley
Isidingo was one of our favourite soapies. When we moved to Texas we used to check the website every day to find out the latest and were shocked to hear about the death of Ashley.
She will definately be missed and this is a great loss to the entertainment world.
Be strong and keep the faith
All the Best

its been months now but i still fell the pain of losing one of my favourite actresses. isidingo is no longer the same. it had a wonderful vibe when you were still alive because you were the only one who could tame the irritating character Barker. you could have saved rajesh from his circumstances if you were still alive.
